Last Group of Photos

And we have our final batch of images before the show! During class this week, we visited the large cross on the hill above Nelsonville. But we can see that students still loved taking their cameras home and photographing their own lives on their own time as well. Once again, please come on out to the kids' exhibit this Friday, July 31, 2015 from 5:30-9:30pm in the lobby of Stuart's Opera House in Nelsonville!

Johni Blackford

Me and Zoe were on the bus and took a selfie. And Zoe was looking off in the distance.

Chase Carr
I liked having the camera because I could document my community.

Zoe Carr
The picture of my mom means I love her so much. The picture of her reminds me that she loves me!

Javier Garcia
I chose my second picture because I saw that it kinda combined with my first picture and I saw a medium pink curved line with the red and orange. What I did to take that picture I zoomed the camera all the way and took pictures of my mouth.

Ethan Oliver
I really like the picture of the chicken because it reminds me of my aunt’s chickens. Also because it’s cool.

Lexy Robson
I like it because it has my mom and Dave in it! The reason I took that picture is because I was getting ready to go to bed and I asked my mom if I could have a picture of her.

Inner Worlds

Here we have the kids taking us inside their worlds: into their homes, with their families; into the eyes, showing us the unique way in which they process their visual environment. Enjoy this installment of kid views, and come on out to the kids' exhibit this Friday, July 31, 2015 from 5:30-9:30pm in the lobby of Stuart's Opera House in Nelsonville!

Josiah Lent
Photography helps me remember things I might forget.

McKenzee Mace
I love to take pictures of reflections of things.

Josiah McDonald
My pictures mean a lot to me. They show the love of nature I have.

Kaitlynn Nagel
Out of the 3 photos the one I like the most is the one with my tan dog Nugget only because I’ve had her for a long time and by a long time I mean since she was born.

Nevada Paskins
The picture of nature is awesome because me and my best friend forever, short for BFF, love the woods and play in there all the time.

Emily Riffle
If you ask me, a photograph means, well, everything because there are memories of everything I love, hate or care about. I mean to some a picture is just ink on a video game but to me it’s art.

Through the Child's Eye

Here are more perspectives, taken with the care and innocence of a child's eye. They see life in a beautiful way that is no less complex than their adult counterpart's perspectives. Who doesn't love their family, and their pets? And who doesn't like taking selfies sometimes? And who doesn't like to be silly sometimes?

Katelyn Hashman
Me and brother love each other. We’re funny together.

Dalton Inman
It was really fun having a camera. I took a lot of pictures and it was like having it and taking it home and taking pics of flowers and animals and people.

Rebecca Mace
I love my cat tiger so I picked him because he’s fat, chubby, and I love him.

Darby Mays
I chose this picture of my hamster Oreo because I love how close I got, and how I feel that I’m inside her cage.

Madisyn McCloud
It is awesome having a camera because you get to edit it how you want. It was an honor to take pictures of my friends, family, gardens, stores, and businesses.

Liam Mullins
I wanted to take a picture of predator falling down a high thing so I could get a good picture.

Lars Westenbarger
Taking pictures of my life is just kind of casual.

Group H to the Rescue

Here we have more from Group H! This group was adept at seeing reflections, light and shadow, animal interaction, nature and symbolism! They took to the cameras eagerly and enthusiastically, taking pictures of everything everywhere we went, and not even stopping when they went home!

Kyle Hall
I took the picture of the chandelier because the lighting was beautiful.

Faye Lockhart
I took it because it was a pink mirror and pink is my favorite color.

Addilyn Oliver
My animals play fight all the time. They are funny when they fight. I love to watch them.

Bryce Sherritt
I love my dog so I took a pic.

Ashley Strawn
I just loved how yellow and pretty those flowers were. Also the way they were just popping out to me was beautiful!! It’s just that wonderful happy color yellow is amazing!!

Paige Ward
We were having fun at the hardware store and were in photography.

Kaylynn Weekley
This picture is my favorite because it represents reflection.
