Week 1, Day 4

On our last day together, we edited some of our favorite images from the week. Here are a few excellent images by some of our students! They seemed to really enjoy photography as well as sharing their work with friends.

Haley Sikorski

Gage Bruce

Miranda Spencer

Nathan Hayman
I took this picture to represent an ever-occurring predicament amongst jr. high and high school students. The two bowling balls used in the photo represent people or students. The two bowling balls (people/students) isolate the third bowling ball in front of the camera. In my opinion, ostracism is a way of putting down someone, which may be even worst then being teased. This may not be a common form of torture for bullies, but it is still hurtful.

Week 1, Day 3

Fantasy was the theme of the day! Students were allowed to dress up in any way they pleased. Many used make-up and brought their own props. Then we paraded around town! After choosing their favorite images, students were then encouraged to create a fictional story around that image.

And Princess Leia takes a selfie before entering the star ship facing her mortal doom!!!
*Suddenly pineapples sliding down a majestic double rainbow*
Chaz: *dramaticly yells* WHAT DOES IT MEAN!!!
Haley: *face palms*

Mariah Hoyd
Once there was a lady that had bright mustard yellow hair with brown highlights. She wore a beautiful dress that said ‘this is my’. But she had a secret, she was a man! She who actually was a he, liked to dress like a girl because it makes him feel pretty.

Justin Mash
I chose this picture because me and my friends were messing around and I was being fabulous like always.

Morgan Clark
I like this one because I have a sassy personality. Also I would be the best lizard ever. This picture would describe me because I’m really creative with everything I do. I did not really like my hair down and dressing fancy but I did it so I could have a costume and some fun.

Stefani O'Neill
You don’t know this, but this is a family. It may not look like one, but we are in our own ways.

Week 1, Day 2

Today we photographed emotions in the studio and outside! Students directed others to portray a variety of emotions through body language and facial expression. Sometimes they directed others to help them in making a self-portrait.

Eddie Webster
This is me trying to be powerful and punching the cold lonely ground.

Kiersten Brose
I’m not sure if she’s annoyed or tired.

Danielle Shultz
I like this picture because it represents the calmer side of Morgan.

Chaz Weeks
This is Justin acting fabulous, like the awesome person he is.

Week 1, Day 1

Our first day of classes have finished! Here are a few examples of the work done by our talented students who are learning about photography by documenting their lives and their surroundings. In the process, we are teaching them about digital photography, computer editing, social media, and self-portraiture.

Stefani O'Neill
This Mushroom represents me with its colors and contrasts. It shows that even the smallest things shine.

Alyson Evans
The Amazing Tree Climber the girl that can climb trees with her bare hands. The girls name is Alyson Evans and she loves nature. She loves all of the creatures around it. She loves to be in nature everyday. She loves nature so much she lives there.

Brianna Combs
I took this picture to have the light shine on half of my face so you can really focus on just that part.

Angel Smathers
I took this picture because I thought the dew drops would be pretty. It represents how life can stand still at time and waiting for something to happen.

Karlie Bishop
This is me. I am dark and mysterious but I admire the beauty of nature. The nature surrounds me by its beauty and darkness. It represents how nature is a good thing and a bad thing. It can be beautiful and dangerous at the same time.
